
Quaker’s Meatloaf – Best ever. Nancy loves meatloaf sandwiches.
We could say that the Romans invented this dish; at least the earliest iteration thereof. The recipe as it appears in Apicius isn’t exactly the same as what you may be familiar with. A more concrete origin for the American version of this dish can be found in scrapple.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 3/4 cup Oatmeal (uncooked)
- 3/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine all ingredients in large bowl.
- Shape in loaf and place in loaf pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes
- Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting
